1. Website operator
This website is operated by Glenarinoriaquiel Limited, 20 Alderman Drive, Henderson, Auckland 0612, New Zealand. Contact: info@glenarinoriaquiel.com; +64 9 889 2746. These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of the Glenarinoriaquiel website. Separate arrangements may apply to actual club membership, event entry or organised competition, and those arrangements will be communicated when relevant.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By using this website, you agree to use it lawfully and in accordance with these terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the site. Merely viewing public pages does not create a club membership contract, guarantee an event place, or confirm a booking.
3. Purpose of website content
The site provides general information about the chess club, its playing culture, membership pathway, sessions and events. We aim to keep information clear and current, but schedules and club arrangements can change. Event times, formats and availability should therefore be confirmed through current club communication before you rely on them for travel or participation.
Descriptions of training, player development and chess concepts are informational. They do not promise a particular rating increase, tournament result or competitive outcome.
4. Enquiries and expressions of interest
Submitting an enquiry does not itself create a membership, reserve an event place or require the club to accept an application. The club may ask follow-up questions relevant to participation, clarify event capacity or suggest a different session that better matches the enquiry.
Information supplied through the enquiry form should be accurate enough for us to respond. Do not impersonate another person, submit abusive content, or use automated systems to flood the form.
5. Club membership and participation
Membership terms, fees, season dates and participation expectations may be communicated separately from this website. Members and visitors are expected to respect opponents, organisers, equipment, venue rules and the integrity of chess competition.
The club may establish reasonable rules for pairings, time controls, result reporting, event eligibility, conduct and use of shared equipment. Repeated serious disruption, cheating, harassment or deliberate interference with play may lead to removal from an event or other proportionate club action.
6. Events, schedules and capacity
Events may be changed, postponed, combined or cancelled because of venue availability, organiser capacity, insufficient entries or other practical circumstances. Where possible, confirmed participants will be given reasonable notice using the contact details supplied for the event.
Some events may have limited capacity, eligibility conditions, registration deadlines or specific time controls. An event listing on the website is not a guarantee that places remain available.
7. Fair play and acceptable use
Users must not attempt to damage, disable, overload or interfere with the website. You must not probe for vulnerabilities, bypass access controls, inject malicious code, scrape the site in a way that materially disrupts service, or submit content that is unlawful, deceptive or abusive.
At chess events, players are expected to follow the announced rules, use clocks appropriately, avoid outside assistance during active games, and respect decisions made by the organiser under the stated event format.
8. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the Glenarinoriaquiel name, website design, original text, graphic treatment and other original site materials are owned by or licensed to the website operator. You may view and print reasonable portions for personal, non-commercial reference. You may not copy substantial parts of the site for a competing service, remove attribution from protected material, or present club content as your own.
Chess moves, game scores and standard chess concepts may not themselves be protected in the same way as original commentary or presentation. These terms do not claim rights that do not legally exist.
9. External references
The current public site is designed to operate without third-party front-end dependencies. If a future version includes a reference to another website, that reference will not mean that Glenarinoriaquiel controls the external service. External services are subject to their own terms and practices.
10. Website availability
We aim to keep the website available, but uninterrupted access is not guaranteed. Maintenance, hosting incidents, software changes, network problems or security measures may temporarily affect availability. We may alter or remove site features when reasonably necessary.
11. Responsibility and limits
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under New Zealand law. Subject to those mandatory rights, the website is provided for general club information and we are not responsible for loss caused solely by reliance on an outdated schedule that a user did not confirm when confirmation was reasonably available.
Each player remains responsible for personal decisions about whether to enter an event, travel to the venue or participate in a particular playing format. The club is responsible for its own obligations to the extent required by applicable law.
12. Privacy and website data
Personal information submitted through the site is handled as described in our Privacy Policy. Information about browser storage and cookies is described in the Cookie Policy.
13. Governing law
These website terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, subject to any mandatory consumer or privacy rights that apply in another jurisdiction. Courts and dispute-resolution bodies with lawful jurisdiction retain the powers given to them by applicable law.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to info@glenarinoriaquiel.com. Postal contact: Glenarinoriaquiel Limited, 20 Alderman Drive, Henderson, Auckland 0612, New Zealand.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in the website, club processes or applicable requirements. The published revision date identifies the current version. Continued use of the website after an update means the current terms apply to that later use.
